Hello! I’m Marke. I’ve had over a decade of professional experience as an interior designer.

I have worked for various clients and brands – residential, commercial, hospitality, and workspaces. I have produced numerous designs for a company I hold dear, from conceptualization to styling. I would love to share those works here, but I signed an NDA.

Interior design through illustrations is what I excel at. Still, I have found it equally satisfying to write concept decks and visual descriptions of every design I’ve created since the beginning of my career. Working out a three-word phrase or concept is exciting, and looking for new words that describe an element without sounding repetitive is a fun challenge. Though recently, we no longer do this and produce more of an outline as we almost always present the designs to clients in person. It was a shame because even though technically it was less work for me, the fun of creating those decks is gone.

This bottled-up need for writing made me put up this site – to express design ideas and stories through words without the constraints placed upon me by the firm I work for. It’s also a great way to connect and help people by sharing personal tips and trade experiences. This will also serve as a more meaningful replacement for doom scrolling, which I am prone to.

What to expect from this site?

The site will focus on my experiences and views in the various facets of interior design, from simple renovations and trends to client relations, to list a few. I will give tips I learned in the trade and insight on anything related to design. As much as I want to express everything in writing, it is essential to have visuals so you can better appreciate what is written, so expect that every post will have images to get the point across better.

I hope my knowledge will help or inspire you and not just be lost in the vast expanse of the internet. And I hope this is not just a short trip but a long journey. See you around!
